How NodeSaver sources data, builds calculators, and keeps Australian financial content accurate.

§ Who We Are

NodeSaver is an independent Australian finance publisher. We provide free financial calculators and money guides for everyday Australians.

Nothing on this site constitutes personal financial, tax, legal, or investment advice within the meaning of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth). All calculator outputs and guide content are estimates for general planning purposes only. Before making any significant financial decision, consult a qualified financial adviser holding an Australian Financial Services (AFS) licence.

§ How We Build Calculators

Every calculator is built directly from primary regulatory sources. We do not interpolate rates or derive schedules from secondary publications — we read the source documents.

  • Tax brackets and Medicare levy — Australian Taxation Office schedule of rates, updated after each Federal Budget.
  • Super Guarantee rate — ATO employer obligations schedule (12% since 1 July 2025, the final legislated rate).
  • HECS-HELP repayment thresholds — ATO repayment income thresholds and rates, updated each financial year.
  • Stamp duty and land tax — direct from each state and territory revenue office; schedules verified against official calculators.
  • Electricity tariffs — Australian Energy Regulator default market offer (DMO) rates, updated when AER publishes each determination.
  • Fuel prices — RACQ, FuelCheck (NSW), and FuelWatch (WA) state average data.

§ Accuracy and Limitations

Calculations use current legislated rates as at the date shown on each page. Results are estimates and may differ from actual outcomes due to individual circumstances, rounding conventions, and assumptions built into each model.

In particular:

  • Tax calculations assume standard residency status and do not account for offsets, rebates, or adjustments that may apply to your situation.
  • Stamp duty estimates assume standard owner-occupier rates; first home buyer concessions and foreign surcharges are modelled separately where the tool supports them.
  • Electricity and fuel costs use state-wide averages and may not reflect local tariff structures or distributor network charges.
  • Property-related projections (capital growth, rental yields) are illustrative only. Past performance does not predict future results.

Results from NodeSaver calculators do not constitute financial advice. Users should verify important decisions — particularly around tax, property, superannuation, and investment — with a qualified professional holding an Australian Financial Services (AFS) licence.

§ Corrections

Factual errors in our calculators or guides can be reported to [email protected]. Please include the page URL, the specific figure you believe is incorrect, and a link to the authoritative source.

We aim to correct verified errors within 48 hours of confirmation. Corrections are applied to the relevant calculator or guide, and the “Data last verified” date on that page is updated to reflect the change.
